Xmas

With Christmas basically here, I wanted to give some last minute gift ideas that can be picked up at your local Lax Unlimited or sent via rush mail order guaranteed by Thursday.

The new redesigned STX K18 line is on point! The glove is low profile and extremely comfortable and the new palm has ridiculous grip but not too sticky like others out there. The arm guard and arm pad fit like you want them to fit, no sliding which means you're not going to constantly have to pull them up after you make a pass or take a shot. Since you have to wear shoulder pads (rules) this is the one, it sits so low on your shoulders you don't even realize you're wearing one. The best thing about this pad for being so low profile is it doesn't sacrifice on protection. For more of the tech stuff on the K18 line check out stxlacrosse.com.

There are a lot of new heads on the market especially because of the new NFHS (National Federation High School) & NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) specs. In a nutshell NCAA heads look more like box heads now and the NFHS heads are like the old rules but a little wider in the throat. Heads are more of a personal preference depending on what you're looking for, I definitely recommend trying it out before you make the purchase. At LU we always have demo sticks on the floor that are custom strung so customers can pick it up, cradle with it & even give it a soft toss on the Lax wall to see how it feels, how it holds and what the release is all about. I was at the Weymouth store yesterday shipping out some last minute Xmas gifts when a kid was doing just that with the Professor head by STX. He was sold on it, couldn't believe how tight it was and was ready to pull the trigger. Unfortunately Dave (the store mgr) had to inform him it was a NCAA head as he was in high school and couldn't use it. For more info on the two new rules and specs on heads check out laxunlimited.com

Have a Merry Christmas and hope you get what you asked for!

2009 Supplemental

Today we had the MLL supplemental draft where we acquired 12 players to fill the roster for the 2010 training camp. I went heavy with midfielders today for a reason. I'm a big believer that the MLL is a midfielders' game and when you have guys who can create from up top, beat their defender and draw the slide it initiates the offense. We picked up Pat Heim who was the #1 overall pick in 2007 out of college. Pat took the year off last season but he indicated to me he is hungrier than ever to get back on the field and compete. He is a vey dangerous dodger and has a laser of a shot on the run both lefty and righty. He's very good in transition and can play on the defensive end if need be. With the 3rd pick I took Billy Looney, another up and down midfielder who came out of Navy in 2007 as well. He and Pat both played for Chicago in their rookie season so there's some familiarity there amongst the two. Billy like Pat is also a very good dodger and shoots well on the run. Being from Navy and playing for a former coach of mine (Richie Meade), Billy is also a very intelligent player and is extremely tough. The last midfielder I took with MLL experience was Glenn Adams from Wesleyan who played the past two seasons with the Long Island Lizards and has been a thorn to the Cannons when we faced the Lizards. Glenn is very quick and has good wheels, he has a nasty right to left split and can get his hands free for good high percentage shots. I've seen him mature as a player the past two seasons and we're hopeful he hits his stride with us. The rest of the midis I drafted are rookies that have high accolades with their former schools and we'll see if they have what it takes to make it in the MLL.

I took two defensemen in the draft, Dan Cocoziello and Chris Atwell. Coco was a highly decorated college defenseman out of Princeton and began his career with the Outlaws before suffering a knee injury that kept him from playing with the Toronto Nationals last season. He's healthy and we want to add some depth to our already strong shut down defensive personnel. Atwell is a 6'6" monster out of Fairfield and my good buddy Ted Spencer told me about him last year but we couldn't get him into camp unfortunately. He's got the physical skills to play in this league, we just have to see if he has the mental toughness to earn a spot on the roster.

On the attack we brought back Mike McDonald, a kid we were really high on last year. He played in a couple of games before our veterans joined us after the NLL season concluded. Mike is a tough kid that goes hard 100% of the time. What will determine if he hangs around this year is if he can get over the hump when defended by some of the premiere defensemen in the league. Jake Byrne joins us via San Francisco and Washington. He's got a lethal shot and is a 2 point threat. We need to see if he can make good decisions and hang around.

It was an exciting day for sure. Although we're still 4+ months away from training camp, the supplemental draft always gets the juices flowing as we're one step closer to the 2010 squad. To see the complete draft list from today go to www.bostoncannons.com

Make sure you're checking in with me, if you have a question or just want to comment on our draft picks shoot an email to bd@lax-school.com

Video Games not Just for kids

I was up at Lacrosse Unlimited in Weymouth today (store was packed by the way) and I overheard some kids talking about Xbox & PS3 and my favorite game of all time EA Sports NHL. They were talking about the differences between 2009 & 2010, what they liked most about the game, their favorite teams and all that good stuff. Being an avid fan of the game since the old school Sega days (when you could skate around the goal and score almost every single time!) I had to interject and give my 2 cents about this years game. They looked at me like I had two heads! "Coach Daye, you play Playstation??" Of course I play Playstation! What do you think video games were just invented with the birth of Playstation and Xbox??? When I was a kid we had the Atari 2600, the Atari 5200 and Colecovision gaming consoles (then came Nintendo but those were the college days). I basically grew up with a game console as a permanent fixture in my house.........son! The graphics were no where near where they are today (obviously) but the 70's and 80's were the birthplace of today's gaming systems......no doubt. Sorry for the rant but I needed to make sure today's youth had an understanding of why guys like myself are avid video gamers.

Back to EA Sports NHL 2010, I love this game. Not being a hockey player I've taught myself the nuances of the game; the offensive, defensive and fore checking strategies. When I play I try to emulate lax and apply different offensive strategies. I get the puck through X and attack the weak side and try and force a slide and open up a big slap shot from my man Nick Lidstrom. Oh yeah forgot to mention I play and always have played with the Detroit Redwings (since Sega). Defensively I love to play aggressive, high pressure and force my opponent to make quick decisions with the puck. I'm not afraid to sacrifice the body and I love the big hits.

This years game is very similar to 2009 but the passing is a lot more difficult to master that's for sure. Other then that the realistic dekes, moves and bone crunching hits makes this game one of the greatest of all time. When I can find the time my boy Millman and I have our epic battles whether face to face or online. Like I said I have always been the Redwings; he's been the LA Kings (Gretzky) and Flyers (Roenick) back in the Sega days. Then he played with the Avalanche for a little bit before settling with the Dallas Stars for quite sometime now. I wish I knew what our overall record was but if I had to take a guess I would say something like; BD 648-Millman 204.......I'm sure he would disagree but I have owned him for 10+ years!

Think you got what it takes to hang with BD on the ice? Shoot me an email at bd@lax-school.com and we'll trade screen names and get online for some NHL 2010!!

The Next Month

As we head into the holidays the next few weeks are important and we can't forget about exercising. The last thing you want to do is to pack on a few extra lb's during Thanksgiving, Christmas. & New Years! Let's face it, you want to have a good time but this is the most important time in our training. If you're a college player this is your tune up before you go back to school and start your preseason conditioning with your teammates. If you're a HS player you want to get your body ready to start going hard after the holidays before your season starts (usually early to mid March).

It's key to continue with your lifting regiment but most importantly don't forget the cardio. Depending where you are outside running can be pleasant or it can be simply painful because of the elements. Getting outside on the road though is important and you should shoot for at least one if not two days a week; 2-4 miles. Set a goal for your time and work hard at hitting it. If you have access to an indoor facility there are other things you can do for conditioning; jumping rope (2 minutes straight, 30 seconds rest-3 sets), slide board (@ some gyms, same as rope), 6o yard shuttles (cones set @ 5, 10, 15 yards-down, back 3x), riding a bike (20-30 mins) & much more.

Conditioning is key for lax players, being able to run for 60 minutes but also being able to make quick, explosive movements & recover quickly. If you want more tips on conditioning & workouts, check out the guidance office @ lax-school.com.

If you want results you got to work hard!

If you have a question you want answered email me or anyone in the guidance office. bd@lax-school.com

It's on!!

I've been checking out my boy Scott's pictures on the Joe Lax-school Facebook page and I must say I'm getting pretty fired up about making my return at next year's Hawaii tourney. So fired up that I started training last night with my boy Seto Berry at MBX. Great workout, pumped to be back in the gym. I haven't suited up since the 2006 USA Tryouts and I haven't played in a tournament since 2000 when I was up in Lake Placid w/Bedding Barn. Good times!!!! That's the best thing about tourneys; you see people you haven't run into in a long time. You have fun off the field with them but once you step on the field it's just as competitive as it was in the college days.

Lake placid was definitely my favorite tourney, George Leveille does a great job up there. The competition is the best in my opinion with teams from all over and it's in a great setting. I had some great games in Lake Placid later in my career, I remember we lost to Sailing Shoe in the finals one year with a nasty team. RP, Silcott, Reese, Naz contingency, Edell, Fraser, the list goes on and on.

What team do you play with? Hit me up at bd@laxschool.com

A Tournament You Must Attend!

My boys Bill and Scott went down to the 19th annual Hawaii invitational tournament...can't wait till you see all the pics and video they shot.
They just told me they took over a thousand pictures alone...they should be up on facebook.com/joelaxschool shortly.
Check them out...this tourney is always a great one, and one I have yet to get to. My boy Brian Silcott is on the hook for getting me there next year………it’s in the Bberry already, could be the return to the cage after a 4 year hiatus.

The tourney is sick, some of the nastiest players in the game with a backdrop of unbelievable scenery, not to mention the amazing good times for everyone over Halloween weekend. There are 4 divisions drawing players from around the globe; including Japan, Iceland, and Canada. If you want more info on the tourney...check out hawaiilacrosse.com
And for great pics and videos from the weekend check out Lax-school.com!

Also a shout out to the 5 Cannon’s who made the World Team. Be sure to check my blog out next week for my thoughts on this year’s TEAM USA!

What Drives You?

I'm sitting here watching Brett Farve once again amaze fans. @ the age of 40, he still gets out there and enjoys the game of football.

What drives Farve is what drives all athletes; the competition and the desire to win and out perform your opponent. Every successful athlete has this, it's also referred to as confidence. Confidence in one's ability to be excel. In other words the will to be the best. .

This "it" factor is what separates the great athletes from the good ones.

What drives you?

Tell me........shoot an email to bd@lax-school.com

PS- I admire Farve but am not a fan of what happened between he and my Jets!!

Getting started

So need to get the workouts going? Grab a jump rope & start a program, 5x a week. 1 minute both feet at the same time, 30 seconds on your right foot, 30 seconds on your left foot then finish with 1 minute alternating feet. That's 1 set; do 3 sets and as you get used to it & get a rhythm going and then you can increase the time for each.
Jumping rope is great for cardio but it also strengthens the legs and the balls of your feet as well as improves your balance (perfect for goalies).
Any questions? Email bd@lax-school.com

Getting it back

Sitting here now that the season is over realizing that I've put on a few lb's this month. Time to get back to work now that September is just about over. If you're in the same boat as me, grab a jump rope; hit the road while it's still nice out; get to the gym and start training for the season. Yeah it's a little bit away but it'll be here before you know it and you don't want to let it go too far (yeah talking about me).

Make sure you check out the guidance office @ lax-school.com and get training tips from our strength & conditioning guru Glenn Harris. If you have a specific training question email him. We'll have more tips for off season training from Dr Harris so make sure you check out the site.

If you have any Boston Cannons, questions, lax-school questions or just general lax questions, email me @ bd@lax-school.com & I'll answer it for you.

5 Hour

Week #3, Titans in 30 minutes to keep the record unblemished. Should be a good game......hopefully Rex has them focused.

Just got a shipment of five hour energy from the peeps from 5 hour (Thanks!). I'm not saying it's the stuff for you per say but I like using it when I need it most. Having 2 kids (one 3 and one just turned 1!) game day can be very long for me. I'm usually up by 5:30-6, then I head into the city for an 11 walk through. We have lunch @ T's Pub then I try to catch a quick nap before I have to get ready for pregame activities. I usually take a shower to try & wake up but that doesn't always work. What does is the 5 hour energy drink. Unlike those other energy drinks that are like sodas & you have to drink 16-20 oz to get the effect, these are only 2 oz, it's quick & doesn't fill you up. The best thing is this doesn't have all the sugars like those other drinks either. I usually pop one down before we walk out for pregame & it lasts the entire game.......no crash. If you do use energy drinks, give 5 hour a shot!

Any questions feel free to email me @ bd@lax-school.com

We're staying in West Annapolis, literally a 2 minute walk to the stadium. Our gracious hosts (the Branigans/aka Leslie Turner (Kip's sister) & her husband Chris & their son Merrick) have. Wonderful home and let the Daye's take it over for the weekend.

Having my 2nd cup of coffee as I get ready for my 8:15 pick up from our VP Mark Kastrud as we're heading to the team breakfast. We'll cover some last things, eat some grub and then get ready for our 9:45 bus to the stadium.

B Walk (our equip mgr) was recognized by the team for all of his hard work and the great job he has done this season.

Lastly, I had some tees made up for the boys with the slogan "60 Minutes" on the back. Bottom line, we play like we're capable of playing for 60 minutes and no one can run with us.

MLL

The difference in winning & losing in this league is the little things; ground balls, smart decisions, taking care of the ball and treating your offensive possessions like gold. Toronto is a good team and battled back in the 4th but I definitely feel like we gave that one away. It's a tough one to swallow as we watched a team celebrate advancing to the playoffs when it should have been us.

We have a bye week coming up, we can still get this weekend with a little help from our old friends Chicago. If not then we need to take care of business on the 6th.

Long Island

On the bus headed over to the stadium. Another big game (aren't they all?)! An opportunity to put some distance in the standings with a win tonight. We need to follow up the big victory on Saturday night with a win tonight.

Its going to be a good one, boys are ready. Can't wait for face off.

Team Meal

Just had a great meal @ the Passavia's place (Woodbury Country Club). Brought back memories as I've been there before for my 10 year HS reunion and Andy Piazza's wedding. Headed back to the hotel to finish up the scouting report and if I can catch a quick nap!

4 in a Row

The boys held their composure and finished the game. Once again it wasn't pretty but we'll take the W. Need to build on this as we go to LI on Thursday.

For now though we will enjoy the W! Time to watch some fireworks!

Here we go

25 minutes until we take the field, sitting in the assistant coaches locker room (there's a head coaches locker room but I don't want to be antisocial) getting ready to go out for pregame. The word is they presold 17,000 tickets for tonight's game; could end up being 20+ out there for this game......that's intense!

Chicago just beat Toronto, Washington is up on Long Island, big game for us tonight. We win and we create some separation, time to take care of business.

Walk through

Just got on our bus (see picture) and headed to our walk through for tonight's game. Team is loose which I like, need to get a good hour/hour & 1/2 workout to loosen the legs and get a good sweat.

Weather is great although they're talking about thunder storms later, we'll see. Happy 4th of July everyone.

Denver

About to board the plane for Denver. They just activated Eric Martin & Brett Hughes and placed KH on IR. Should be a good one, excited for practice tonight, so are the boys. Pumped to play out there for the 4th, heard so much about this game and the 17-20,000 they get for it. I will however miss my family and the fact I won't be with them for the 4th.

We'll just have to get the W!!!

On a Roll

Nice win in front of the Cannon's faithful last night on the Deuce. It's great when you get multiple guys on the scoreboard, 50% from your FO specialist & 19 saves from your goalie. We still have a lot of work to do but as I said before we're heading in the right direction.

Big one next weekend @ Denver for the 4th of July. They usually get between 15-20,000 fans for the game and then the fireworks show. Should be a great game! I'm looking forward to being out there for the 4th although I will miss not being at the Hingham 4th of July parade with my family!

Headed down to the Cape right now for a little R&R and QT with the family that is long overdue!

Going to be a great game tomorrow. No better way to welcome the warm weather then to check out the Cannon's at Harvard. The team is ready and should be fun. Time for us to go on a run.

Just got a pair of white K18's from my boy Chris Moreau from STX, these gloves are SWEET! Comfortable, great new palm (I usually cut my palm out but not this time) and they look HOT!

Check back soon, I'll post some pics.

Keep it Rolling.......

My bad for not getting on my blog right after our 2nd consecutive win down in Annapolis on Friday night (I already got reprimanded by my producer). Anyways, another solid effort by the boyz. I was really stoked with the way we took control of the game and didn't look back for the majority of the 2nd half. We are starting to play better on both ends of the field and most importantly we're getting more consistent with our play which in this league is very important. Offensively we once again put the lotion in the basket (as Millmix likes to say), in other words we're scoring goals, lots of them. We also got stingy on the defensive end of the field and held them to single digits. That's huge because at the end of the season, other then head to match ups; goals for and goals against count towards seeing who may advance into the postseason if records are even.

THURSDAY NIGHT - ESPN2 LIVE vs. The Toronto Nationals. If you don't live in Boston then you can watch it on the tube. IF YOU DO LIVE IN BOSTON, I EXPECT YOU TO BE IN THE STANDS!! The London weather (from my wife Alison) will be gone by Thursday, they're even saying the sun will peak out. This is going to be a great lacrosse game, so come on out to Harvard and get LOUD!

Toronto is a very talented team coming off of a loss at Denver, so they will be hungry for a win. We need to keep the momentum going to put ourselves one game out of 1st place. Like I tell the squad, we have a great opportunity; we can't let it pass by. That's what this is all about, it's about playing together, playing for each other but most importantly seizing the opportunities to become a better team and WIN!

Father's day was great, got to spend time (although it was a monsoon out) w/my three girls; my wife and my two daughters. It's a tough time of the year with all the traveling I do for the MLL so anytime I can spend QT with the family is great. I even got a little one on one time with my wife Alison last night as we snuck out for dinner at the Scarlet Oak here in town. It's always great to catch up and just have our time! I had the pulled pork and I must say it doesn't even come close to my recipe.....need to hook it up soon!

Hope to see you....I mean hear you on Thursday night!

Annapolis

Annapolis Maryland is a great town. We're at the Marriott right on the water here in Annapolis as we get ready for Washington in about 3 hours. I love this town; so much to do...did I mention it's right on the water??? Seriously though, great little shops and restaurants (as well as bars but that's for post game) here in Annapolis. We had a team meal at the Turner's place as they live right around the corner from the Hotel. Great chicken Parm by Mrs. & Mr. Turner as they were gracious enough to host our pregame meal.

I say this all the time but tonight is a big game for several reasons. We have the opportunity to make up some ground in the conference and get to 3-3 which is huge at the mid point of the season. We also need to come out and execute the way we played last week at home vs. Chicago. If we can replicate that performance I honestly believe there are few teams that can play with us.

It's hot out and we're getting ready to take off in 25 minutes to head over to Navy and get ready for this battle. Should be a good one, no doubt it's an important one.

Time to see if my team has grown a little bit......

Moving in the right direction.....

Last night was as close as we've come to playing 60 minutes of lacrosse and boy was it fun to watch. We have so much talent on the Cannons that when everyone just flat out plays we are a hard team to beat. We were clicking on both ends of the field last night and as a coach it's something you like to see, especially at this crucial point in our season. By no means are we hitting our stride yet, we still have a lot to clean up but we're definitely heading in the right direction. It was nice to see Shooter (Matt Poskay) back in the line up. As usual he found the net mutliple times. We are finally back at full strength with our personnel; it makes it hard in terms of determining who is going to dress (because of the talent pool) but honeslty that's a problem I don't mind having. At Washington on Friday, gonna be good one.

I got a chance to spend some time with the family today as we shot out to the MBYLL Jamboree at Fort Devens for a couple of hours. Lots of lacrosse being played this weekend and next as over 5,000 people are out at this event each weekend. Lax Unlimited is the retail vendor and we were slammed these past two days but it was fun. Make sure you pop into the LU tent, great deals on some really cool stuff.

Big One!!!!!

Sitting here at 7:00 in the morning finishing up the scouting report for Chicago, BIG GAME TONIGHT!! Three teams at 3-1 and three teams at 1-3; if the season were to end today we would be in 4th place and would qualify for the playoffs. That's why tonight's game is so huge as we need to control the tie breakers with a team that is behind us in the standings. Chicago is a very talented team that is capable of putting a lot of G's up on the scoreboard. We need to come out of the gate and control the game from the opening whistle. We had a very good practice last night, offense was clicking. We welcomed back Matt "Shooter" Poskay as he's been inactive for the past 4 weeks, it will be nice to get him out there tonight for sure. He looks like he hasn't missed a beat as he was filling up the nets. We also had a few of the rookies at practice last night; Jordan Burke and Jake Beebe made their debuts for us. Jordan looked good until the shooting drill, I think he got a taste of the MLL and how good these guys really are. He will be a good MLL goalie though, he's mentally tough and has a great attitude. Two things you definitely need to be a successful MLL goalie. We'll have more of an offensive look tonight so we should put some big numbers up on the scoreboard if we execute.

12 hours to go, should be a good day and I'm pretty confident it will be a good night!

Camp

Whazzup! I've been at the Lax-School Lacrosse Camp @ the Fessenden school this whole week, two days left....can't believe how fast time has gone by this week. We have a lot great kids at camp from ages 6-15, mostly from private schools in the area (since public school is still open!). These kids are good kids who are all striving to be better lacrosse players. I have a couple of "mini mites" as I like to call them who are tearing it up! These guys barely come up to my waist! But they are soaking up information like sponges AND every day they have gone home and worked on what we taught during the day. When a kid tells me that, I LOVE IT!!!!!

You can't become a BALLER, unless you WORK HARD.

Rain.....

Sitting on the bus as we just got onto Long Island. Early rise this morning to catch the 6:30 bus for our game vs. the Lizards tonight. I wish I would have looked at the weather report before hand so I could have packed a little better......can you say rain? All day, all night...... Big game for us tonight, as you say in Professional sports....this is a MUST win. To keep us in the pack and create a little separation from Washington (who lost last night) we would get to 2-2 with the victory tonight. When you have 6 teams in the league and see 2 of those teams 3 times, victories early in the season are key. I strongly believe the boys are ready, we had a nice taste of what the this team is like when we execute for 3+ quarters as we did in Chicago last weekend. Now we need to do it for a full 60 minutes and not give up a 9 goal lead!! Our goal each week is simple; let's be better then the week before. We'll see how it shakes down.

Whirlwind of a Week

Boy, this past week was crazy but fun! We (Our VP Mark Kastrud & Asst. Coach Jim Murphy) left on Tuesday afternoon for the MLL Draft since we were starting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The favorite part of the day for me (other then the actual draft) is the interview process. This is when I get a good idea of what each kid is all about. We have a pretty good handle on their lax skills as we've seen them play either on film or in person but we really don't know what type of personality a kid has, what his post collegiate plans are, stuff like that. So it's important to really ask specific questions for each guy, especially the ones you're considering. Draft went well, very happy with the results. You may see a rookie make his debut soon. Also got a chance to hang out w/"Shooter" Poskay as he took us to a steak place called Arthurs in Hoboken. They had two options, large or small.....what else can you say? Poskay is doing well, he's looking forward to coming back and we can't wait to get him back.

Made the trip home Thursday and then turned around and flew out to Chicago on Friday for our game vs. the Machine @ Soldiers Field. The stadium is sweet, it was cool to be playing in there and they had a decent crowd. Road trips are great, guys spend a lot of time with each other and it's good thing as it's step in the team building process. It's always nice to end it off with a win, makes for a good post game. We played well for the three solid quarters and it was nice to see. We ran out of gas a little bit in the 4th and made some mistakes as a result of this. But it was nice to see us take the hit a couple of times but bounce right back, another positive step forward.

Pyched to be back home, saw the girls today and spent some QT w/Adi and Ollie as well as put our new mailbox up (my wife Alison bought it 6 months ago). Short week as we go to Long Island Friday for a Friday night game. Big one.... 3 teams are 2-1 and 3 teams are 1-2; another must win for us to stay right in the thick of things. Should be another good game, both teams are different then the 1st meeting; it will be fun.

Check out our draft results on bostoncannons.com, also look for the next Cannon's weekly on lax-school.com as we'll show you some in-depth coverage of the draft.

Denver

Sitting here watching the Denver film, pretty talented offensive group. Harri (Kyle Harrison) is filling the nets off the dodge, his 1st step is unbelievable. Greg Downing is pretty smooth as well... our d mids have to do work. Big one tomorrow both teams are 0-1 so we're both looking for our 1st W. This is the part of coaching I enjoy the most, preparing the game plan. When you have the talent as we do it's all about giving them the info and then let them go out and play. Should be a good game, we're getting Boyle and Alrich back into the lineup and we just picked up Kyle Sweeney in a trade with Washington. Looking forward to seeing this group come together, now it's my job to make sure it's sooner then later...........

Moving Forward

Tough getting over that loss to LI, I felt we played well and with intensity for most of the game. There was a little stretch when we had a lead that we didn't make some good decisions with the ball. In this league the teams are too good, when you give teams second chance opportunities they are eventually going to capitalize. Possessing the ball at any level is important in this game, like I always say when I'm giving my GB spiel.......your team can't score unless you have the ball and vice versa......your opponents can't score if they don't have the ball. Make sense?

Getting ready for Denver as they're coming into town on Friday. They are very talented and deep at the midfield, should be another exciting game. We get a couple of our players back in the line up and are looking forward to almost having a full squad. There's no doubt we need to take care of the rock on Friday night but we also need to continue playing as a team if we want to get the W.

Big weekend in New England as the NCAA final four comes to town. 2nd year in a row, pretty cool event for the folks up here as it took forever to get it and now it's back for an encore and it'll be here again in 2011. Thought my Heels could get it done, hat's off to the boys as they left it all on the field on Sunday. Unfortunately they came up short, they may not have won the game but they won the hearts of their alumni.....that's for sure. We're looking forward to 2010 already as the future is bright on the Hill.

Hope to see you out in the parking lot this weekend!

Home Opener vs. Long Island this weekend

Season opener is here, can't believe it. It seems like yesterday we were preparing for the supplmental draft and it was a typical New England day.......wicked cold!

Tomorrow's going to be a battle, no doubt about that. Whenever these two teams get together it always seems to come down to the last few minutes of the game. Last year we split with LI; lost in OT at their place and then beat them w/8 seconds left on the clock at our place. Probably one of them most exciting finishes to a game I've been a part of when Zummo alleyooped a pass to X and he one timed it right into the open goal to get the W.

Excited for the summer, we have a great group of guys who understand what it takes to get to the top. We have a lot of work to do and it all starts tomorrow. Should be a great game and I'm hoping we do what we need to do to and get #1.

Wish us luck!

Welcome

Within this section you learn all that Bill Daye thinks...Lacrosse, OF COURSE. But, Life in general...Music, Movies, Food, Video Games, anything and everything. We all know that Life and lacrosse encompass more than just what happens on the field. Here Bill will talk about what goes on in life...on and off the field.
